Claire Elise Boucher (/bu:'SeI/ boo-SHAY, born on 17 March 1998) who is also known professionally as Grimes she is a Canadian musician as a singer, songwriter, and record producer. [2][3] Her early work is described as stretching to "lo-fi R&B" to futuristic dance-pop. She has also incorporated influence from electronic music, hip-hop and rock. A lot of her songs touch the themes of science fiction as well as feminist topics. The singer has released five studio albums. Grimes came from Vancouver but later relocated to Montreal. She started her solo career in the late 2000s. In 2010, she dropped two albums via Arbutus Records, Geidi Primes (and Halfaxa), respectively. Later, she was signed to 4AD and gained notoriety when she released her third studio album, Visions that was released in 2012. Visions has two singles "Genesis" and "Oblivion" as well as being given by the Juno Award in Canada for Electronic Album of the year. Art Angels, her fourth studio album, came out in 2015. A number of publications have rated it one of the greatest albums. 6. Her fifth studio album, Miss Anthropocene, was released in 2020. Grimes is an official judge of Alter Ego, a music contest. Grimes was also a participant of Cyberpunk 2077 2020 role-playing game.
