Morgan Smith

Morgan has graduated from Columbia College, Columbia University in addition to the Mannes College of Music. In New York City he was picked to be a Seattle Opera "young artist" (1999-2000). He first made his debut as a professional at Seattle Opera in 2001 in Billy Budd. Smith, known as a Seattle favorite, has performed in more than 12 shows, including Don Giovanni in the title role, Silvio and I Pagliacci in I Pagliacci as well Riccardo of I Puritani. He also played Peter Niles, in Mourning is Alive. Smith has a long-running career as a performer on stage for concert performances. Smith made his Dallas Symphony debut in Bach's St. Matthew Passion and was also part of the San Antonio Symphony at the North American premiere for Detlef Glanert's orchestral rendition of Brahms famous cycle Vier Praludien Und Ernste Gesange. Additional concert repertoire include Beethoven's Ninth Symphony; the Requiems of Brahms, Faure, Mozart and Durufle; Mass in C Minor of Mozart and Mass that is in G Minor of Vaughan Williams; Bach's B Minor Mass and numerous cantatas and Weihnachts Oratorium; Handel's Messiah as well as L'Allegro and the il Penseroso and il Moderato and Haydn's The Creation and Lord Nelson Mass.
