
Under the direction under the direction of Frank Connelly, their first manager, they spent some time in Boston's club circuit. The group then began working with Steve Leber (New York) and David Krebs (New York). The band's debut album, which was called "Eponymous" released in the year 1973. They got a recording contract in 1972. The album was immediately followed by Get Your Wings and Toys in the Attic and Rocks. The album brought Aerosmith international fame and recognition. These albums were the inspiration of iconic hits like "Dream on", Walk This Way and "Sweet Emotion". Aerosmith's first five albums were all multi-platinum. Toys in the Attic and Rocks are regarded as the greatest albums of hard rock ever. However, as the decade progressed the hectic lifestyle of touring, recording, living together, and using substances began to take its toll on the group. In their notorious use stimulants and heroin, Tyler and Perry were sometimes called the Toxic Twins. Their relationship is documented in many of Aerosmith's video recordings as well as in Aerosmith Behind the Music. Tyler seemed more committed to Aerosmith and disliked Perry for her passive behavior. Perry was also jealous of his preference for females in his life. Aerosmith was at a low point around 1980 due to tensions between Perry and Tyler.
